Southbridge is excited to announce that it is partnering with Centennial College of Applied Arts and Technology to provide further IPAC training to Registered Nurses and Registered Practical Nurses across its retirement and long-term care homes. The training will be conducted through a series of courses and workshops over four days, for a total of three sessions. The first training session begins on March 26th, with subsequent sessions to start on April 23rd and May 28th.

The training sessions will see more than 100 registered care staff across all Southbridge’s care homes participating in the four-day workshops, which are being offered remotely to ensure the health and safety of staff during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) course and workshops will provide participants with IPAC knowledge to reinforce and strengthen IPAC practices in our long-term care and retirement homes. These sessions will focus on current best practices of infection prevention, outbreak management, and emergency preparedness.

The opportunity has been met with great enthusiasm by care staff and homes, and we look forward to building on the work we have begun to further enhance our infection prevention and control practices across all Southbridge homes.
