Building on its work to enhance infection prevention and control practices across all its retirement and long-term care homes, Southbridge is supporting staff members looking to obtain their Certification in Infection Control (CIC), a voluntary, periodic certification for all Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) Professionals meeting the required educational and practice requirements.
Infection Prevention and Control Canada endorses the CIC certification as a core requirement for the position of Infection Prevention and Control Professional.
Southbridge currently has six team members writing their certification exams, all of which are expected to be completed by the end of June. The staff members each come from different homes, including:
- Shelburne Long-Term Care
- Orchard Villa Long-Term Care
- West Park Long-Term Care
- Manoir Marochel Long-Term Care
- Craiglee Long-Term Care
- Pinecrest Long-Term Care
Southbridge congratulates those who are working towards receiving the CIC certification, and encourages all eligible staff members to consider taking the exam to enhance their IPAC knowledge.
