As you may have heard, the Ontario government announced the gradual resumption of visits to long-term care homes, retirement homes, and other residential care settings.  Family and friends will be allowed access to these settings beginning June 18, 2020.

We are very pleased that our residents in homes and communities that are not in outbreak will be able to see their loved ones soon. We are working through the details and revising our policies and protocols to ensure alignment with the directives of the Ministry and Public Health.  This information will be communicated to you very soon.

For homes that are currently in outbreak, we will not yet be able to welcome visitors during the outbreak.  An updated listing of homes in outbreak can be found at https://www.southbridgecarehomes.com/covid-19-updates under the COVID Home Status.

Outbreak clearance is given by the local public health unit. An outbreak is considered cleared 14 days after the last resident or employee case of COVID-19 and  once authorized by the local public health authority.  While we cannot start visits until an outbreak is cleared, we have started planning for the time when these homes will be able to safely reconnect families and residents.   We are working through the details and revising our policies and protocols to ensure alignment with the directives of the Ministry and Public Health. This information will also be communicated to you very soon.
